Rivers such as the Osage, Gasconade, and the Mighty Missouri provided rich soils and bountiful harvest for several generations of our German ancestors. The silty clay-like soils in many of these bottom lands became known as gumbo. These areas not only provided great farmlands, but also a place for many generations to enjoy the simplicities of life. A place where long evenings filled with conversation were enhanced with great wines and the freshest of brews.
Gumbo Bottoms Alehaus is an attempt to recreate the simplicities of years past. A relaxed environment to slow things down a bit, take a breath of fresh air, and enjoy time amongst friends. Stop in to end your day or start the evening. Prost!
